Mammootty, the Big M of the industry, is all set to portray the epic character Karnan onscreen. Interestingly, it was the complete actor Mohanlal, who suggested Mammootty for the role. Initially, writer P Sreekumar approached Mohanlal with the screenplay and the actor was impressed. At the same time, Mammootty, who was excited about the project, was enquiring about the developments.
